This 53’ collapsible pipe trailer that extends to 73’ was designed to carry three 4’ Diameter 80’ Long pipes that weigh 20,000lb each.  In the extended position a steerable rear axle compartment utilizes a 4’ Diameter bearing for a better turning radius.  To increase capacity, we placed a 3rd axle in front of the steering rear axle and it independently steers along with the rear axle.  This axle is hydraulically lifted out of the way when trailer is returned to 53’.  It also features an air-operated locking pin for the tandem steering axle.
